Whilst here in Japan the question we think about, ask each other and dither over the most is undoubtedly: "Where shall we eat tonight?" Should we go to the place with the plastic walls, or the one with the indecipherable smell, or the one up that dark staircase? Osaka is a literal maze of restaurants, a noisy, multi-level, neon maze. Luckily restaurant owners have found a way to lure in indecisive customers: show them the food! Outside almost every restaurant is a mouth-watering display of succulent wagyu beef steaks, steaming gyozas and perfectly formed sushi... all made from plastic. Feast your eyes on the culinary delights of Kansai! But remember, it’s all inedible.
